1. Overview
Captcher is operated by Noventix LLC in Columbia, Missouri. This notice describes the Captcher website, hosted application and Captcher Recorder browser extension.
Captcher turns recorded tasks into interactive walkthroughs. The content you choose to record can contain information about you, your colleagues or your customers. Use test or synthetic data wherever possible, and review every draft before sharing it.
2. Information we handle
- Account information. Your email address, sign-in credentials, account access status and connected recorder devices are used to create your account, authenticate you and manage access.
- Recordings and walkthroughs. Submitted recordings can include page HTML, visible and hidden page content, ordinary form values, interactions, URLs, titles, images, styles, fonts and eligible screenshots. We also store walkthrough drafts, edits, version history, collections and brand profiles.
- AI requests. Instructions you give to the authoring and editing tools, relevant captured content and generated responses are processed to create or update walkthroughs.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we receive the information you include so we can respond to your question or request.
- Connection information. Loading the website or using the service sends technical information, such as your IP address and requested URL, to the servers handling the request.
3. The browser recorder
You choose when to start recording and when to submit a capture. A recording covers the starting tab and tabs opened from that flow. Single-page capture saves the selected page. Recording stops on Finish, Discard, panel closure or loss of the panel’s connection.
Recognized password, one-time-code and payment-card controls, along with hidden inputs, are blanked during capture. Sensitive actions use placeholders. Screenshots are omitted when recognized sensitive controls or embedded frames are present, and capture stops when protection cannot be verified. This does not identify every secret or sensitive detail in a page.
Outside a recording, the panel checks active-tab URLs to support connection and pairing, checks recognized Captcher origins and announces the extension’s presence on the connected service. The extension contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
Submit sends the recording to the connected Captcher server shown in the panel. Hosted production connections require HTTPS. To include page resources, the recorder also requests images, styles and fonts from addresses named by the page. Those requests follow browser access rules; the capture engine’s fetch adapter omits credentials and rejects redirects. Resource servers can receive your IP address and the requested URL.
4. Processing and providers
We use account and recording information to provide sign-in, store your work, generate and edit walkthroughs, and serve the content you choose to share. The service uses the following providers:
- Supabase provides account authentication, database storage and storage for captured screens and related files.
- Anthropic processes recorded content and instructions for AI authoring and editing. Using these features sends relevant content to Anthropic.
- LangSmith, when diagnostic tracing is enabled, receives AI request and response traces, which can include captured page content, instructions and generated text.
Infrastructure and email delivery services also handle the information needed to host the service and deliver account messages. Provider processing and retention depend on the service configuration and applicable provider terms.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
5. Cookies and local storage
The marketing website saves your light or dark appearance preference in your browser’s local storage when you use the theme toggle. Its page code does not set cookies or include advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts are served from this website.
The hosted application uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. Clearing cookies or signing out ends that browser’s local sign-in session.
The recorder stores its service address, device token, connected email and preferences in local extension storage. Unsubmitted captures and logs stay in panel memory; closing the panel loses that work. Removing the extension clears its extension storage, but does not remove downloaded files or recordings already submitted to the service.
You can clear website storage through your browser settings. This resets saved preferences and may require you to sign in again.
7. Retention and your choices
Submitted recordings, walkthroughs and related account data are stored by the hosted service so they can be edited and shared. They are separate from temporary recordings in the browser panel, and are not deleted when you close or uninstall the recorder.
You can revoke a connected recorder from your account to prevent future authenticated uploads. For access, correction or deletion requests, including account closure, email [email protected]. Include the email associated with your account and a description of your request; do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
Account deletion requires removal of both hosted content and the authentication account. Contact us for the applicable retention and deletion details, including any remaining backups, diagnostic records or provider-held information.
